Architectural Décor, a family
owned studio, is comprised of brothers Charlie and Marc, their sister
Sam and mother An. Along with extended family they continue the time
honored and ancient craft of ceramic tile making. Their designs
feature architectural details from antiquity as well as contemporary
interpretations within the last several hundred years. Examples such as
the Centurion and Roman Lady deco’s, both being derived from
Roman coins from 350 BC, as well as the Roosevelt Egg & Dart which
is inspired by the Teddy Roosevelt remodel of the Whitehouse of 1904,
are a small part of what they produce.
All of the decorative tiles are pressed,
molded and glazed by hand, one tile at a time, in the traditional tile
making method. They are represented in over 40 tile showrooms across
the U.S. At present they have a small showroom in the front of the
studio displaying some of their tiles. It is best to call ahead and
inquire if you are interested in viewing the tile making process.
